Launching a new website is exciting, but rushing the last step can undo a lot of good work. Forms that do not send, pages blocked from Google or old links that suddenly break can cost you enquiries and rankings in the first few weeks. Here is the checklist we use before every launch, written so any business owner can follow it.

Content and design

  1. Phone, WhatsApp and email are correct on every page, and tapping them on a phone works.
  2. Address, timings and map match your Google Business Profile exactly.
  3. No placeholder text or sample images remain anywhere on the site.
  4. Spelling and prices have been checked by someone who did not write them.

Mobile and speed

  1. Test on real phones, both Android and iPhone. Check that text is readable without zooming and buttons are easy to tap.
  2. Check loading speed with Google PageSpeed Insights. Large images are the most common cause of slow pages; they should be compressed and in modern formats such as WebP.

Forms and tracking

  1. Submit every form and confirm the enquiry arrives in the right inbox, not in spam.
  2. Spam protection is active, such as a simple CAPTCHA or hidden honeypot field.
  3. Analytics is installed, and calls, WhatsApp clicks and form submissions are tracked as events.

SEO basics

  1. Every page has a unique title and description that describes its content.
  2. The site is not blocked from search engines. Developers often block staging sites; make sure that setting is removed at launch.
  3. An XML sitemap exists and is submitted in Google Search Console.
  4. Old URLs are redirected. If you are replacing an old site, every old page address should redirect permanently to its new equivalent. This protects the rankings you have already earned.

Security and ownership

  1. HTTPS works on every page, with no browser warnings.
  2. You have all the logins: domain, hosting, website admin, analytics and Search Console, registered in your business name. Backups are scheduled.

After launch

For the first few weeks, check Search Console for errors, watch enquiries closely and fix anything unusual quickly. Regular website maintenance keeps the site secure and fast after that.

If you are planning a new website or a redesign, our website designing team follows this checklist on every project, and our technical SEO service can review an existing site against it.
